As the official record keeper for the city, you'll maintain legislative archives, manage public records requests, and coordinate municipal elections. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to the City Council and contribute to El Paso's growth through meticulous documentation and compliance with Texas state statutes.
Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve official city records, ordinances, and council minutes
- Oversee municipal election processes and voter registration compliance
- Process public records requests within statutory timeframes
- Administer oaths of office and document notarizations
- Coordinate with city departments on legislative tracking
- Ensure compliance with Texas open records and meeting laws
- Prepare agendas and supporting documentation for council meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or public sector experience
- Texas Certified Municipal Clerk (TCMC) certification preferred
- Expertise in Texas Election Code and open records laws
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems
- Exceptional written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
