The City of San Jose is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented City Clerk to join our dynamic municipal team. As the primary administrator of official city records and the primary liaison between the City Council and the public, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our local government operations.

Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the official records of the City Council, including minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and contracts.
- Prepare, distribute, and archive comprehensive meeting packets for the City Council, Boards, and Commissions.
- Provide exceptional customer service to the public, assisting with permits, licenses, and general inquiries regarding city procedures.
- Administer election procedures and voter registration programs in accordance with state and local laws.
- Ensure strict compliance with the California Public Records Act (CPRA) and other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external agencies and internal departments to ensure accurate and efficient information flow.
- Oversee the daily operations of the City Clerk's office, including filing systems and archiving.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a municipal government, legal, or corporate clerical setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and government document management software.
- Strong working knowledge of the California Public Records Act (CPRA) is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity and professionalism.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail under tight deadlines.
- Valid California Driver’s License may be required.
