Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Records Management: Oversee the acquisition, organization, and archiving of municipal records to ensure compliance with state and local regulations.
- Document Issuance: Issue various city permits, licenses, and certifications to residents and businesses accurately and efficiently.
- Meeting Administration: Prepare agendas, take minutes, and maintain official records for city council meetings and departmental hearings.
- Public Information: Serve as the primary point of contact for the public, answering inquiries regarding city policies, ordinances, and available documents.
- Administrative Support: Perform general clerical duties, including filing, data entry, and correspondence management, to support the department's daily operations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; an Associate’s degree in Business Administration or Public Records Management is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in administrative support, records management, or a related clerical role.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with database management systems.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse public.
