Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, including ordinances, resolutions, and minutes, ensuring compliance with retention schedules.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, supporting materials, and minutes for the City Council and various boards.
- Oversee the administration of municipal elections, voter registration drives, and related public outreach initiatives.
- Respond to public information requests in accordance with the California Public Records Act (CPRA).
- Coordinate interdepartmental communications and serve as a liaison to the public and media representatives.
- Supervise and mentor junior clerical staff to ensure high standards of service delivery.
- Perform general clerical duties, including filing, data entry, and record archiving.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in municipal administration, records management, or a similar government role.
- Strong knowledge of California Government Codes and local government procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and government-specific software.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a focus on public service.
