Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain official meeting agendas, minutes, and resolutions for City Council and Commission meetings.
- Manage and preserve public records, ensuring strict compliance with the Kansas Open Records Act.
- Oversee the logistics of local elections, including voter registration and polling site coordination.
- Provide exceptional customer service to citizens, businesses, and visitors regarding permits, licenses, and inquiries.
- Assist in the administration of the City’s procurement and contracts processes.
- Maintain the City Code of Ordinances and other reference materials.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in administrative support, office management, or government operations (1+ years preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and government-specific software (e.g., Elglide or similar).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to transcribe and edit meeting minutes accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
