We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional City Clerk to join the General Services Department. As the City Clerk, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the City Council and the public, ensuring that our municipal operations run smoothly, transparently, and in compliance with all regulations. Responsibilities
- Record Keeping: Maintain and organize all official city records, including ordinances, resolutions, minutes, and contracts, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Meeting Administration: Prepare agendas, take official minutes, and coordinate logistics for City Council and committee meetings.
- Public Records: Manage Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and provide information to the public in a timely and professional manner.
- Council Support: Assist the City Council in researching legislative issues and preparing briefing materials.
- Compliance: Ensure all city filings, permits, and reports are submitted to state and federal agencies on schedule.
- Customer Service: Serve as the face of the City Clerk's office, greeting visitors and answering inquiries regarding city procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of administrative experience in a municipal, government, or legal setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with document management systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to maintain accurate records and follow complex procedures precisely.
- Integrity: Demonstrated high ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
