The City of New Orleans is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive City Clerk to join our administrative team. Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all official city records, including deeds, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes.
- Prepare and publish agendas and official minutes for the City Council and various boards and commissions.
- Provide exceptional customer service and information to the public, businesses, and visitors regarding permits and inquiries.
- Ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding data privacy and archiving.
- Coordinate logistics for official city events, elections, and public hearings.
- Process and issue licenses, permits, and certificates in accordance with established protocols.
- Supervise and assist the records department staff in daily operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or History preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in administrative support, records management, or government operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with records management software.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to proofread and verify accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Valid driver’s license is preferred.
