Responsibilities
- Records Management: Manage and maintain official city records, including minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and legal documents.
- Public Access: Receive and process public records requests promptly in strict compliance with the Tennessee Public Records Act.
- Meeting Support: Prepare agendas, briefing materials, and minutes for City Council and Board of Commissioners meetings.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to citizens, vendors, and internal departments regarding city operations and procedures.
- Filing & Archiving: Oversee the systematic filing and secure archiving of correspondence and legal filings.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between the City Council and various departments to ensure accurate information flow.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience in office administration, records management, or public service is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with document management software.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear correspondence.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
