Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and preserve official City records, including ordinances, resolutions, minutes, and contracts, in compliance with state retention schedules.
- Process and archive vital statistics (births, deaths, marriages) and other essential public documents with strict accuracy.
- Assist the public, city officials, and external agencies with requests for records, providing courteous and efficient service.
- Ensure the secure handling of sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality regarding all municipal data.
- Oversee the filing systems and database management for the Clerk's Office to ensure easy retrieval and organization.
- Prepare and distribute official correspondence, meeting agendas, and reports as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or Records Management is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in clerical administration, records management, or a related government field.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning specialized government software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
