Responsibilities
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of all city meetings, ordinances, resolutions, and official documents.
- Public Service: Assist citizens with inquiries, applications, and information requests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Administrative Support: Perform clerical duties including data entry, filing, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.
- Document Preparation: Prepare, distribute, and certify various legal and administrative documents for the Mayor and City Council.
- Compliance: Ensure all filing and reporting procedures adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Office Management: Oversee the daily operations of the front desk and lobby area to ensure a welcoming environment.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration or Public Administration preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a government office, administrative assistant role, or customer service is highly valued.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong typing skills (35+ WPM).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
