Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate records of city transactions, permits, and public inquiries using the City’s digital filing systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service at the front counter and over the phone, resolving questions and directing visitors to the appropriate departments.
- Process and verify documents, including utility payments, license applications, and official requests for information.
- Assist in the preparation of agendas, minutes, and reports for City Council meetings and departmental updates.
- Perform data entry and filing duties with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front office reception area to ensure a welcoming environment.
- Collaborate with various city departments to ensure seamless workflow and communication.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; additional coursework in Office Administration or Public Administration is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in clerical work, customer service, or a municipal government setting preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn proprietary government software quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Valid Driver’s License is required for this position.
