Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and direct incoming phone calls, visitors, and mail to appropriate city departments with accuracy and professionalism.
- Process and maintain official city records, including permits, licenses, and correspondence, ensuring all data is filed correctly and securely.
- Assist the public with inquiries regarding city services, providing clear information and routing complex issues to the correct staff members.
- Prepare and format various documents, reports, and meeting packets using Microsoft Office Suite and specialized government software.
- Perform data entry tasks with a high degree of precision, maintaining up-to-date databases and digital filing systems.
- Collaborate with other city departments to ensure seamless communication and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative, clerical, or customer service role is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new government-specific software quickly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
