Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular security rounds and headcounts to maintain safety protocols
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and security breaches immediately
- Document incidents and maintain detailed shift reports
- Screen visitors and packages for contraband according to state procedures
- Operate security systems including surveillance cameras and control panels
- Collaborate with day shift officers for seamless transition of responsibilities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean record

- Physical fitness to handle restraining techniques and emergency responses
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night shifts
