Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce institutional regulations during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security patrols and surveillance of facility premises
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with appropriate protocols
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of all shift activities
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages for contraband and security threats
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during emergency response operations
- Implement rehabilitation programs and educational initiatives during night hours
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum 21 years of age and U.S. citizenship
- Pass comprehensive background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Strong conflict resolution skills and crisis management abilities
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure overnight environments
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Ohio driver's license with clean driving record
