Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive detection systems to screen passengers and baggage
- Conduct physical pat-downs and baggage inspections as required by security protocols
- Monitor airport checkpoints to detect prohibited items and security threats
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities following TSA procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service while explaining security processes to travelers
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Maintain accurate screening logs and equipment calibration records
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Proficient in English communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid state driver's license
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
