Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual inspection techniques
- Conduct pat-down searches and explosive trace detection procedures as required
- Monitor security checkpoints to ensure compliance with TSA protocols and federal regulations
- Respond to security incidents and emergency situations with calm professionalism
- Document security activities and maintain accurate inspection records
- Provide courteous customer service while enforcing security procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security operations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if required for position duties)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Basic computer skills for documentation systems
