Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security rounds and headcounts to maintain order
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and security breaches
- Document incidents and maintain accurate shift reports
- Screen visitors and incoming/outgoing mail for contraband
- Operate security systems including CCTV and access control
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Physical fitness to perform security duties (walking, standing, restraining)
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience in security, military, or law enforcement preferred
