Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate law enforcement/fire/EMS units
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Radio systems during high-pressure situations
- Maintain accurate incident documentation and update field units in real-time
- Coordinate with multiple agencies including FBI, DPS, and Border Patrol
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Monitor radio channels for routine traffic and emergency alerts
- Participate in ongoing scenario-based training drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas driver's license (Class C)
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and drug screening
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification
- Fluency in English and Spanish (written/spoken)
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- US citizenship or legal permanent residency
