Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain security protocols during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular facility inspections and headcounts to ensure compliance
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with calm, professional intervention
- Document all incidents and maintain accurate shift reports
- Enforce facility rules and regulations to ensure safety and order
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed
- Provide transportation services for inmates and staff as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and polygraph examination
- Successful completion of physical fitness assessment (push-ups, sit-ups, run)
- Basic computer literacy and report writing skills
- First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire
- No felony convictions and ability to obtain DC government security clearance
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure overnight environments
