Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations with zero tolerance for safety violations
- Conduct hourly security rounds and headcounts using digital surveillance systems
- Respond to emergencies including medical incidents, disturbances, and security breaches
- Prepare detailed incident reports using digital evidence management platforms
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages to prevent contraband entry
- Supervise inmate work programs and educational activities
- Operate perimeter security systems including biometric scanners and motion detectors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with minimum 21 years of age
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean driving record
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Completion of Peace Officer Training Academy (POTA) certification
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and psychological evaluation
- Physical fitness to meet correctional officer fitness standards
- CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
- Experience in security, law enforcement, or military service preferred
