Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and professionalism
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate with field units, fire, and medical services during emergencies
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Adhere to all department policies and confidentiality protocols
- Complete specialized training programs to achieve full dispatcher certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and multitasking technology
- Experience handling high-pressure customer service scenarios
- Basic knowledge of law enforcement procedures and radio protocols
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
