Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security rounds and headcounts to maintain order
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and behavioral issues with de-escalation techniques
- Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation using digital systems
- Screen visitors, packages, and incoming/outgoing mail for contraband
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during emergency situations
- Participate in mandatory training programs and drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) certification
- Minimum 21 years of age with US citizenship
- Ability to pass background check, physical fitness test, and psychological evaluation
- Strong conflict resolution skills and crisis management abilities
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and surveillance systems
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
