Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules to ensure security
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts of housing units
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using approved protocols
- Document all incidents and maintain accurate logs
- Screen visitors and incoming packages for contraband
- Supervised inmate movement and work assignments
- Operate security systems and control room equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Physical fitness to handle emergency situations
- Basic computer literacy and documentation skills
- Ability to work rotating night shifts and weekends
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
- Experience in corrections or security field preferred
