Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate activities in living quarters, work areas, and recreational facilities
- Conduct regular security inspections and counts to maintain accountability
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and security breaches with appropriate protocols
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records
- Enforce institutional rules and regulations consistently
- Transport inmates between facility locations and court appearances
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment and control panels
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Valid state driver's license
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Ability to pass background investigation and medical examination
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Physical fitness to meet job demands including walking, standing, and restraining
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
