Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations to ensure safety and security
- Conduct regular patrols and perimeter checks of detention areas
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with appropriate protocols
- Document all incidents, reports, and inmate interactions accurately
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages according to security procedures
- Operate security systems including control panels and surveillance equipment
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during transfers and releases
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Must be 21+ years old and US citizen
- Nevada Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness test
- Valid Nevada driver's license with clean record
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
- Basic computer proficiency for report documentation
