Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate activities to ensure facility security and safety protocols
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections to detect and prevent security breaches
- Enforce facility rules and regulations while maintaining order among inmate populations
- Respond promptly to emergencies, disturbances, and critical incidents
- Document daily operations, incidents, and inmate behavior through detailed reports
- Assist in inmate transportation and escort duties as required
- Collaborate with law enforcement and correctional staff during emergency situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Valid Texas driver's license (Class C minimum)
- Physical fitness to perform duties including standing for extended periods
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
- Basic computer skills for report writing and record maintenance
- Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities
