Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce institutional regulations with unwavering vigilance
- Conduct regular security inspections and headcounts ensuring 100% compliance
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations using de-escalation techniques and force protocols
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate electronic records
- Operate security systems including access control, surveillance, and perimeter monitoring
- Transport inmates between facilities following strict federal safety protocols
- Mentor junior staff during weekend rotations to maintain operational excellence
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license (mandatory)
- Minimum 21 years of age with high school diploma or GED
- Pass rigorous background check, polygraph, and medical fitness assessment
- Successfully complete BOP Correctional Officer Training Program
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays without exception
- Strong physical endurance to handle long shifts and emergency responses
- Experience in law enforcement, military, or corrections preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and security technology systems
