Responsibilities
- Record Management: Accurately file, index, and maintain a wide variety of legal documents, including deeds, judgments, and court orders, ensuring strict adherence to archiving standards.
- Public Assistance: Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, answering inquiries regarding court procedures, and directing them to the appropriate departments efficiently.
- Administrative Support: Perform high-speed data entry tasks, operate complex office equipment such as copiers and scanners, and prepare official correspondence.
- Record Retrieval: Assist attorneys, legal professionals, and the general public in locating and retrieving historical and current case files using our digital and physical systems.
- System Maintenance: Ensure electronic filing systems are updated and secure, maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive legal data.
- Operational Support: Assist in scheduling court proceedings, manage incoming mail, and maintain the cleanliness and order of the clerk's office.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an office administration, legal support, or customer service role is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and respectfully with diverse populations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to verify data accuracy and manage large volumes of paperwork without error under time constraints.
- Integrity: Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to government regulations and ethical standards.
