Responsibilities
- Document Processing: Accurately receive, process, and file legal documents, including deeds, marriage licenses, and court filings.
- Public Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting visitors with inquiries regarding records, fees, and procedures.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in both physical and electronic filing systems.
- Communication: Relay information between departments, attorneys, and the public clearly and professionally.
- System Operation: Utilize county-specific database systems (e.g., ACS) to search and retrieve vital records efficiently.
- Confidentiality: Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols regarding sensitive personal and legal information.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a clerical, administrative, or legal support role is highly preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and ability to learn new computer systems quickly.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in data entry and filing.
- Integrity: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
