In this vital role, you will serve as the face of the courthouse, assisting the public, attorneys, and court staff with daily administrative tasks. Responsibilities
- Record Management: Receive, file, and maintain accurate court records, case files, and legal documents in compliance with state regulations.
- Public Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, answering inquiries, processing payments, and directing parties to the correct resources.
- Case Processing: Prepare and distribute notices, summonses, and subpoenas; ensure all paperwork is processed efficiently and accurately.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with judges, attorneys, and court staff to facilitate smooth courtroom operations.
- Financial Duties: Handle cash handling, process payments for fines and fees, and maintain accurate daily logs and receipts.
- Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality standards regarding sensitive legal and personal information.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; additional clerical or legal training is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a courthouse, law office, or government administrative role is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn new case management software quickly.
- Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
