Responsibilities
- Conduct continuous monitoring of federal networks and systems to detect, analyze, and respond to cyber threats in real-time.
- Implement and enforce security controls and configurations in accordance with NIST 800-53 and FISMA compliance standards.
- Investigate security incidents, analyze logs, and coordinate with incident response teams to mitigate risks.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify weaknesses in the system.
- Manage and maintain SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools such as Splunk or QRadar.
- Collaborate with federal stakeholders to ensure security policies are met and provide technical guidance on security best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports on security posture and incident resolution for leadership review.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility (or the ability to obtain one immediately).
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, network defense, or information assurance.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and secure system architecture.
- Experience with federal compliance frameworks such as DIACAP, RMF, or NIST.
- Professional certification such as CISSP, Security+, or CEH is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
