Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies compliant with NIST/FISMA standards
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on VA systems
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) tools for threats
- Lead incident response protocols during security breaches
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security controls into new systems
- Provide cybersecurity training to staff and leadership
- Ensure HIPAA compliance for veteran health data protection
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- 3+ years experience in federal IT security environments
- Active CISSP or Security+ certification required
- Expertise in network security tools (e.g., Splunk, Palo Alto)
- Knowledge of federal security frameworks (NIST 800-53, RMF)
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance
- Strong analytical and incident response documentation skills
