Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats across federal networks
- Implement and maintain advanced security protocols and intrusion prevention systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical infrastructure
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate breach mitigation activities
- Collaborate with federal partners on threat intelligence sharing and security initiatives
- Ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST, and other federal cybersecurity standards
- Mentor junior cybersecurity staff and conduct security awareness training
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with federal systems
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight) and threat detection platforms
- CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification (CISSP preferred)
- Experience with cloud security architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Demonstrated knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls framework
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during security incidents
