Responsibilities
- Greet and Assist: Welcome customers warmly and provide courteous, accurate information regarding DMV services, hours, and procedures.
- Service Processing: Efficiently process driver's license renewals, vehicle registrations, title transfers, and address changes using state systems.
- Problem Resolution: Handle inquiries and resolve customer issues with patience and professionalism, escalating complex matters to supervisors when necessary.
- Data Entry: Maintain precise records and documentation by entering data into the Department of Motor Vehicles database with a high degree of accuracy.
- Queue Management: Manage wait times effectively, ensuring a positive flow of customers while maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
- Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal regulations, confidentiality policies, and departmental operational standards.
- Education: Provide general information to the public regarding traffic laws, road rules, and vehicle safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous customer service experience, preferably in a government, healthcare, or retail environment.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Skills: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulations in simple terms.
- Technical: Proficient in using computer applications and POS systems; quick learner of new software.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy office.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, and occasional weekends.
- Background: Ability to pass a background check and maintain a professional appearance.
