Responsibilities
- Perform general clerical duties: Prepare, copy, and distribute memos, letters, and documents, and maintain filing systems, records, and databases.
- Customer Service: Greet visitors and answer incoming calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate department or staff member with professionalism and courtesy.
- Record Keeping: Review and update files, collect and analyze information, and prepare reports for management.
- Data Entry: Enter and update data into various computer systems and databases with high accuracy and speed.
- Payment Processing: Process payments, receipts, and invoices accurately, ensuring all financial records are up to date.
- Meeting Support: Assist in the preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, and materials for city council and departmental meetings.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of general clerical or administrative experience preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new software systems quickly.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain precise records under time constraints.
- Integrity: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to city policies and procedures.
