Responsibilities
- Customer Interaction: Greet and assist walk-in customers and telephone inquiries with a professional, courteous, and patient demeanor.
- Transaction Processing: Accurately process DMV transactions including driver license renewals, vehicle registrations, title transfers, and license plates.
- Information Dissemination: Provide clear instructions and information regarding state traffic laws, fees, and documentation requirements.
- Problem Resolution: Handle complex customer complaints and resolve issues efficiently to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Documentation: Verify customer information against state databases and ensure all forms are completed correctly and filed in a timely manner.
- Office Management: Maintain a clean, organized work area and manage the queue system to minimize wait times.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Specialized Knowledge: Experience working in a DMV, government agency, banking, or retail is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable using multi-line phone systems.
- Skills: Strong typing skills (30+ WPM) and basic computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
