Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and dispatch police, fire, and EMS resources with precision
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Maintain calm communication during high-stress emergency situations
- Document incident details accurately in compliance with NIMS standards
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Provide pre-arrival emergency medical instructions to callers
- Participate in continuous training for new protocols and technologies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service or call center experience
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with high accuracy
- Valid Indiana driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn specialized software
- Shift flexibility including nights, weekends, and holidays
- EMT certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
