Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for natural disasters and public health crises
- Coordinate with local agencies, NGOs, and federal partners during disaster activations
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for Bexar County
- Manage emergency operations center (EOC) activations and resource deployments
- Train public officials and community responders on emergency protocols
- Prepare federal grant applications and compliance documentation
- Analyze post-disaster data to improve future response strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of emergency management experience in government/public sector
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience with NIMS/ICS protocols and EOC operations
- Strong written/verbal communication skills in English/Spanish
- Ability to work irregular hours during disaster events
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency software platforms
