Responsibilities
- Coordinate disaster response operations and resource deployment during emergencies
- Develop and maintain emergency management plans for hurricane-prone coastal areas
- Analyze risk assessments and implement hazard mitigation strategies
- Train local officials and community members in emergency preparedness protocols
- Manage grant programs for infrastructure resilience projects
- Lead interagency coordination meetings with FEMA, NOAA, and state agencies
- Prepare incident action plans and after-action reports
- Conduct damage assessments and recovery operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in emergency management, public administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years' experience in disaster response or emergency planning
- Federal Emergency Management Institute (FEMA) certifications (EMI-100, EMI-200)
- Strong knowledge of NIMS/ICS protocols and Stafford Act regulations
- Advanced GIS mapping and spatial analysis skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance
- Experience with federal grant management systems
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with ability to deploy during emergencies
