Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster response efforts with local/state/federal partners
- Conduct risk assessments and create mitigation strategies for vulnerable populations
- Manage emergency supply chains and resource allocation during crises
- Train public health staff and community volunteers on emergency procedures
- Prepare detailed incident reports and policy recommendations
- Lead public communication campaigns during emergencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in government/public health emergency response
- FEMA Professional Development Series certification required
- Strong crisis communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in emergency management software (e.g., WebEOC, EMTrack)
- Ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
- Valid Nebraska driver's license
- Experience with grant writing for emergency preparedness programs
