Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response protocols for wildfires, floods, and public health emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster drills and tabletop exercises with FEMA, Arizona Division of Emergency Management, and local partners
- Manage the County's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during 24/7 activations
- Lead public outreach initiatives to enhance community disaster preparedness
- Analyze risk assessments and recommend infrastructure improvements for critical facilities
- Oversee federal grant applications and compliance for emergency preparedness funding
- Prepare detailed incident reports and post-event recovery plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of emergency management experience with government or nonprofit agencies
- FEM-301/401 Incident Command System certification required
- Proven experience managing FEMA grant programs (PA, HMGP, BRIC)
- Strong knowledge of Arizona Emergency Operations Plan (AOP)
- Exceptional crisis communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to obtain and maintain Pima County Public Trust clearance
- GIS mapping experience for hazard vulnerability analysis
