Responsibilities
- Coordinate city-wide emergency response plans for natural disasters and public safety incidents
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness protocols in compliance with FEMA guidelines
- Lead cross-departmental crisis response teams during active emergencies
- Analyze risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for vulnerable communities
- Train public safety personnel on emergency procedures and new technologies
- Manage federal/state grant applications for disaster resilience projects
- Conduct post-incident reviews and recommend system improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in disaster response or emergency services
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Proven expertise in incident command systems (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Strong analytical skills with experience in risk assessment and mitigation
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for sensitive information
- Exceptional communication skills for high-pressure stakeholder coordination
