What you'll achieve: Develop emergency response plans, coordinate disaster drills, manage resource logistics, and lead inter-agency communications during incidents. You'll be the backbone of Minneapolis's resilience infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive emergency response protocols for natural disasters and public health crises
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster drills and tabletop exercises quarterly
- Manage emergency supply chain and resource deployment logistics
- Lead incident command center operations during declared emergencies
- Develop public communication strategies for disaster scenarios
- Analyze post-incident data to refine response procedures
- Secure and administer federal emergency preparedness grants
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years experience in government emergency response or disaster coordination
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Incident Command System (ICS) 300+ certification
- Valid Minnesota driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work 24/7 during declared emergencies
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Experience with federal grant reporting (FEMA, HHS)
