Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response plans for natural disasters and public health crises
- Coordinate multi-agency operations during disaster events including fire, flood, and security threats
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train city staff and community partners in emergency protocols and crisis communication
- Manage emergency operations center activations and resource deployment
- Prepare FEMA grant applications and compliance documentation
- Lead public awareness campaigns for disaster preparedness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years experience in emergency response or public safety coordination
- FEMAI certification or equivalent emergency management credential
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and emergency software platforms
- Valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to work extended hours during crisis situations
- Strong written communication skills for public-facing documents
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background clearance
