Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for natural disasters, public health crises, and security threats
- Coordinate multi-agency response efforts during emergencies including fire, police, and health departments
- Analyze risk assessment data to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
- Train public officials and community members on emergency preparedness protocols
- Manage emergency operations center communications during activations
- Prepare grant applications and compliance reports for FEMA and other funding sources
- Conduct post-incident reviews and implement improvement plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of emergency management or public safety experience
- FEMAPRO certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public briefings
- Ability to work under pressure during extended emergency activations
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel county-wide
- Experience with NIMS/ICS protocols
