Responsibilities
- Coordinate federal disaster response operations during hurricanes and other emergencies
- Develop and implement community resilience programs for vulnerable neighborhoods
- Analyze infrastructure vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
- Liaise with local, state, and federal agencies during crisis situations
- Train emergency response personnel and community volunteers
- Manage grant programs for emergency preparedness projects
- Prepare after-action reports and improvement plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of emergency management or disaster response experience
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Experience with NIMS/ICS protocols and federal grant management
- Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and resource allocation
- Ability to work 24/7 during crisis situations with minimal notice
- Proficient in GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Valid driver's license and ability to traverse disaster zones
