Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans for natural disasters and public health emergencies
- Coordinate interagency response efforts during crisis situations
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for El Paso County
- Train public officials and community members in emergency protocols
- Manage federal grant applications and compliance reporting
- Leverage GIS technology for disaster mapping and resource allocation
- Lead public awareness campaigns for disaster preparedness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in emergency management or public safety
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification
- Texas Emergency Management certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in emergency management software (e.g., WebEOC, NIMS)
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish (required)
- Ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
