Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for natural disasters and public health emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency response efforts during crisis situations
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for Memphis communities
- Train public safety personnel and community volunteers in emergency protocols
- Manage emergency supply chains and resource allocation
- Prepare post-incident reports and implement improvement strategies
- Ensure compliance with FEMA and Tennessee Emergency Management guidelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in emergency response or disaster management
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent certification preferred
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-agency operations
- Strong communication skills for public announcements and stakeholder briefings
- Ability to work 24/7 shifts during emergency activations
- Valid Tennessee driver's license and clean driving record
