Responsibilities
- Perform general clerical duties including data entry, filing, and photocopying with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Answer incoming telephone calls, greet visitors, and direct inquiries to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Maintain and update accurate records and filing systems in strict accordance with municipal policies.
- Prepare, sort, and distribute mail, packages, and interoffice documents efficiently.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing meeting materials for department staff.
- Support the department with special projects, data analysis, and ad-hoc administrative tasks as assigned.
- Ensure a professional and welcoming environment for all guests entering the office.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience in an office or administrative setting is a plus but not mandatory for this entry-level position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Must be able to pass a standard background check and drug screening.
