Responsibilities
- Answer and screen incoming telephone calls and redirect them to the appropriate staff members or take detailed messages.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, logging, and distributing correspondence to federal employees.
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic filing systems to ensure accurate and easy access to records.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, memos, and other documents using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Perform data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring database integrity.
- Greet visitors and visitors, verifying their business and directing them to the correct department.
- Support senior staff with special projects and administrative clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Minimum of 1 year of general office or clerical experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is highly preferred.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35 WPM).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and a drug screen.
